  • Vented Real Fyre gas logs are designed for use with a fully functioning chimney or flue, allowing combustion gases to safely vent outdoors — much like a traditional wood-burning fire — and produce the most realistic flame patterns. Vent-free logs operate without a chimney, delivering heat directly into the room while burning gas cleanly and efficiently with minimal emissions. If you have an existing fireplace, check which venting system is already in place before choosing a set.

  • To size your log set, measure both the front width and the back width of your fireplace opening, add those two numbers together, and divide by 2 to get your center point. Then subtract 6 inches from that center point to find your ideal log set size — for example, a center point of 31 inches means a 25-inch set, which you'd round down to a 24-inch set. If you're using a G45 burner, subtract 8 inches instead of 6.

  • If your log set extinguishes shortly after lighting, it's likely due to inadequate gas supply — check the gas pressure to address this. If it goes out after 10 minutes to an hour, the most common culprit is an overheating thermocouple; you should also ensure the thermocouple tip is fully enveloped by the pilot flame, and clean it with fine steel wool to remove any soot buildup. If cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, test or replace the thermocouple.

  • Yes, Real Fyre gas logs are available in both natural gas and liquid propane (LP) fuel types, but you must purchase the correct set for your fuel source — they are not interchangeable without proper conversion. Using the wrong fuel type or an improper log setting for your gas type can cause issues like low flames or excessive sooting. Always consult your dealer to confirm the right configuration for your home's gas supply.

  • All Real Fyre ceramic refractory gas logs — both vented and vent-free — are warranted for as long as you own them, making it a lifetime warranty on the logs themselves. All Real Fyre burners (vented and vent-free) are covered for ten years, while glass, gems, and fiber-ceramic blend logs carry a five-year warranty. Control components vary, with some valves covered for two years and SPK-26 controls covered for three years.
