  • Yes, a decorative front is required before the unit can be used — the firebox cannot operate without one. Three fronts are available and sold separately for the 36-inch Inception: the Folio, the Halston, and the Chateau Forge, each with different style dimensions. When installing, finishing materials must not interfere with the removal of the decorative front or access for service.

  • The Inception can be fully recessed into new construction wall framing (requiring a framing width of 42", depth of 8¾", and height of 34⅞") or set up freestanding using the optional Wescott Mantel Kit with no construction needed. The slim 8-inch profile makes it easy to integrate into most walls, and the Wescott Mantel Kit option connects to a standard 120V outlet via the included power cord, so no electrician is required for that configuration.

  • At 120V, the Inception delivers 5,000 BTUs and is also 240V-capable, which doubles the heat output to 10,000 BTUs. The thermostatically controlled heater is rated to provide supplemental warmth for areas up to 800 square feet. The fireplace can also be enjoyed in flame-only mode year-round with the heater turned off entirely.

  • The Inception supports multiple control methods: on-fireplace buttons on the lower right of the unit, the included multi-function remote control, and the Wi-Fi IntelliFire App on your smartphone. It is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for full voice command control, making it the only SimpliFire series in its lineup to offer both Wi-Fi app control and smart speaker integration.

  • The SimpliFire Inception is backed by a 2-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, issued by Hearth & Home Technologies (HHT). The warranty is only valid when the product is purchased from an HHT-authorized dealer or distributor — if purchased from an unauthorized third-party marketplace, the warranty claim may be denied. HHT will, at their discretion, repair or replace defective component parts or refund the purchase price during the covered period.
