The Empire Boulevard 48-Inch See-Through model delivers up to 36,000 BTUs of heat output, making it well-suited for zone heating in large or open living spaces. Because it is 100% vent-free, all of the heat it produces stays inside your home rather than being lost through a flue or chimney, maximizing efficiency. If you find the output too intense for your climate, an optional Forced Air Heat Management Kit (HMFA) is available to redirect some of the warmth outside.

No chimney or venting is required — the unit is completely vent-free and can be installed on any interior dividing wall between two rooms, with or without decorative fronts. For full in-wall installation, 2x6 framing is recommended, while partial in-wall installation is possible with 2x4 framing. The unit is designed for zero-clearance enclosures, which gives it a high degree of installation flexibility for new builds and renovations alike.

The Empire Boulevard 48-Inch See-Through is available in both natural gas and propane configurations, so you can choose whichever fuel source is available in your home. For ignition, you can choose between an Intermittent Pilot (IP) system — which eliminates the standing pilot to save energy and includes a thermostatic variable remote with six flame settings — or a Millivolt system, which uses a standing pilot, requires no external power, and comes with a basic on/off remote. The IP model also includes a battery backup so the fireplace continues to function during power outages.

The fireplace supports a wide range of optional accessories, including reflective liner kits in black porcelain, white porcelain, or stainless steel, as well as decorative surrounds in a 1½-inch beveled matte black front or a ¾-inch black frame — or you can tile/stone directly to the opening for a seamless custom look. Three square feet of decorative crushed glass comes included with the 48-inch see-through model, and additional media such as driftwood log sets, pebbles, and alternative glass colors are sold separately. An optional accent lighting kit can also be added to enhance the visual depth of the liner and decorative media.

The Empire Boulevard 48-Inch See-Through fireplace comes with a Limited Lifetime Parts Warranty on the combustion chamber and heat exchanger, along with a Five-Year Limited Labor Warranty. To keep the warranty valid, the unit must be installed by a qualified technician — Empire specifies it will not honor the warranty if the fireplace is not installed by the selling dealer or that dealer's direct contract agents. The warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable, and all warranty repairs must be performed by a qualified gas appliance technician.
