Frequently Asked Questions

  • This heater uses 240V AC current and must be hard-wired by a licensed electrician — it cannot simply be plugged into a standard outlet. Installation must be carried out by a licensed and authorized technician in accordance with local electrical codes. The heater must be connected either to a hardwired on/off switch or to a compatible Bromic Affinity Smart-Heat controller.

  • The 56-inch 6000W model outputs up to 13,700 BTUs and is rated to warm areas up to 130–160 square feet under optimal conditions. Keep in mind that actual coverage varies based on ambient temperature, wind conditions, mounting height, and patio setup. For best results, Bromic recommends an 8-foot mounting height in a low-wind, covered environment.

  • The heater requires a minimum clearance of 12 inches on the short sides and 18 inches from the long sides to combustible materials, making it suitable for lower ceilings. The installation manual also specifies that the heater should be installed less than 96 inches (8 feet) from the floor for optimal performance. The heater must never be mounted vertically.

  • The heater does not include a switch or remote out of the box, but Bromic offers optional wireless control accessories. You can add a Wireless On/Off Switch for basic control, or a Wireless Dimmer Switch to adjust heat output from 0–100%, and both can manage multiple units simultaneously from a single remote. The heater can also be integrated with Bromic's Smart-Heat Link system for compatibility with smart home technology.

  • Bromic Heating warrants all patio heaters to the original purchaser — whether installed in residential or commercial locations — to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one (1) year from the original date of purchase. The unit is also rated IPX4 for splash resistance from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor and indoor installations. For longevity, Bromic recommends cleaning the heater at least every six months and more frequently in salt-air or adverse environments.
