No trim or surround is included with the unit.

Outdoors, the unit's 5,000 BTU heater is not a substantial source of heat, as the heat escapement ratio is too high for the fireplace to provide any noticeable heating capacity in open-air applications. The flame effects can still be enjoyed outdoors year-round with or without the heater running.
